New Foster Mama in Residence
Isn't she a beauty? This morning was my shift walking dogs* at the Humane Society, so I had the enviable and difficult task of choosing which expectant mama to bring home for fostering. The choices were the beauteous Isis (pictured above in all her feline glory) and a sweet marmalade girl who looked like a petite female version of our own Mr. Bounce. This was an almost impossible decision; both were as friendly as they were beautiful. But A) Ms. Isis was just a tad more outgoing, with the louder purr, and B) the marmie's baby-daddy was in the cage next to hers, and he was such an ENORMOUS cat that I feared the tiny orange momcat was going to fill up with huge kittens and explode. Here's hoping for an easy delivery and many stripey kittens. :) *I walked: a black lab mix, a chocolate lab/doberman mix, a brown Chesapeake mix, an enormous German Shepherd, a black Chow mix, a red brindle Staffordshire Terrier mix, and what appeared to be a very small rag mop with legs. Oh, and I held a soft, sleepy mastiff puppy and got peed on by a 12-week-old yellow lab pup. |
